Gary LeiblerFounder and Managing Partner

Gary is the managing partner and founder of Shavit Capital. Gary has managed over $500 million over six funds. He has been involved in many successful technology companies including over 20 companies that completed successful IPOs in the US or other public markets. Portfolio companies led by Gary were sold to leading multinational companies including Microsoft, AOL, Amdocs and Alcatel-Lucent.  Gary has served as director of various high-tech and investment advisory companies.   Gary was also the founder and managing partner of AIG Orion Venture Capital Fund, which was managed in partnership with the international private equity practice of American International Group (NYSE: AIG).  The AIG Orion Fund, with investors including Microsoft, Comcast and the World Bank, was one of Israel’s most successful venture capital funds from the 1999/2000 vintage.  Gary also served as a global manager of the private equity practice of AIG which at the time managed the world’s largest investment firm that specialized in emerging economies.  Gary also has experience as an attorney and accountant.

Gary is active in many non-profit organizations including the Jerusalem Foundation and the Israel National Library. He was an officer in the IDF (res).

Gary holds an LL.B and Bachelor of Economics from Monash University, Australia.

Leon RecanatiPartner and Chairman Investment Committee

Leon is one of Israel’s premier business figures and is currently the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GlenRock Israel, a private investment company with a focus on venture capital investments in startup companies engaged in life sciences and in advanced technologies. GlenRock takes an active role in the development and growth of its portfolio companies, such as Kamada, Evogene, Shellcase, Outbrain and Rainbow Medical. Leon is a founding partner of Shavit Capital Funds. Until 2003, Leon served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IDB Holding Corporation Ltd., one of the largest and most diversified holding companies in Israel. Leon was the Chairman of Clal Industries and Investments Ltd. and Chairman of Azorim Investment Development and Construction Ltd. Until 1997, Leon was Chairman of Delek Israel Fuel Corporation and Super-Sol, in addition to holding several other positions in a variety of operating companies in Israel. Leon is actively heading numerous charitable enterprises in Israel.

Leon holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelor degree in Economics, both from the Hebrew University in Israel.

Gabriel MenagedPartner

Gabriel is an experienced entrepreneur who has invested in and managed a broad range of businesses both inIsrael and the United States. Gabriel was the owner of the Israeli franchise of Dunn & Bradstreet and thereby had access to proprietary deal flow as well as to senior management of the leading companies in Israel. He eventually sold the franchise to Dapei Zahav Babcock & Brown. Gabriel was also the owner of a related business which assessed the credit ratings of companies. Gabriel has a successful track record of initiating and leading the construction of major real estate projects in Israel. In this context, he spearheaded the development of Airport City, Israel’s largest commercial real estate development project. Gabriel is involved in infrastructure projects primarily in Turkey and India. Gabriel was educated at Columbia University.

Jonathan LeiblerPartner

Jonathan has over 20 years of legal and commercial experience in Israel. He is a founding partner of Shavit Capital Funds and serves as Chief Executive Officer of Leibler Investments Ltd., which has an active portfolio of investments in technology, infrastructure, media, property and other businesses. He works closely with leading venture capitalists, hi-tech companies and investors in Israel and has been involved in several high profile companies from the early seed-stage to initial public offerings and beyond as well as other successful exits. Jonathan also serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Orion Y.G. Energy, which specializes in alternative energy. Previously, Jonathan was a Partner at one of Israel’s largest law firms, Yehuda Raveh & Co. He also served as of-counsel for Levy Meidan & Co., specializing in hi-tech, project finance and infrastructure.

Jonathan holds an LL.B with Honors and a Bachelors of Economics, both from Monash University, Australia.

Daniel MeronPartner

Daniel has well-rounded experience of over 20 years in supporting the growth of technology companies within various roles in investment banking and capital markets. Daniel played a pivotal role in dozens of technology deals of billions of dollars, including IPO’s / Follow-On offerings, M&A advisory, and investments.

Prior to joining Shavit, Daniel was Managing Director and Head of Technology at Leumi Partners, Bank Leumi’s Merchant & Investment Banking subsidiary. Daniel augmented the firm’s business in the tech space in Corporate Finance, M&A and investments in companies and funds. Beforehand, Daniel was Director, Equity Research Analyst with RBC Capital Markets. In this role, he covered dozens of Wall-St. traded companies from Israel and the US and established the firm’s franchise in Israel; Daniel gained solid reputation with investors and executives, named Global Software Stock Picker #3 by Financial Times / Starmine in 2011; Top #3 Investment Returns in Israel (Globes, 2012) and Best Tech Analyst (TheMarker, 2005). Prior thereto, Daniel was Technology Equity Analyst with IBI and Piper Jaffray / Excellence.

Following academic training, Daniel served in the prestigious Atuda Program of the Israeli Defense Forces in the Intelligence Unit, in Engineering Corps and as Artillery Combat Fighter. Daniel has B.A. dual major in Economics & Business Management from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and was named in 1993 / 1994 Dean’s List.

Erez YuvalPartner

Erez has extensive experience as an investment manager with particular focus on investments in private equity investment funds both globally and locally. Prior to joining Shavit Capital, Erez worked at Amitim – Senior Pensions Funds, Israel’s largest institutional investor where he served as an investment manager leading private equity transactions. Previously, Erez worked at Amit, Pollak, Matalon & Co. Law Offices, specializing in equity investments in high-tech companies and various pooled investment vehicles.

Erez holds an LL.B (cum laude) and Bachelor of Economics from Tel-Aviv University.

Asaf Iram

Asaf is GlenRock’s Managing Partner and sits on the Board of Directors of several public and private companies. Prior to joining GlenRock, Asaf worked at Meitar Liquornik Geva & Leshem Brandwein, Law Offices, and specialized in corporate law, with particular emphasis on investment rounds and corporate IPO’s. Previously, Asaf worked as a consultant for MATI, a public organization committed to assisting the establishment and expansion of businesses, providing business planning for startups and existing businesses, and advising entrepreneurs about establishing businesses in Israel. Additionally, Asaf was involved in several independent entrepreneurial ventures.

Asaf holds an Executive MBA, an L.L.B and a B.A. degree in Management from Tel Aviv University.

neil cohen

Neil CohenVenture Partner

Neil Cohen co-founded Israel Seed Partners, a leading venture capital firm, in 1994 and managed the firm until 2019. He has invested in and served on the board of directors of many private technology companies, including a large number which were acquired or completed successful initial public offerings (IPOs). He is a Venture Partner at Sky, an Israeli middle-market private equity firm and at Hetz Ventures, an early stage Israeli venture capital fund. Mr. Cohen was previously the Business Editor of The Jerusalem Post and began his career in the private equity group at N M Rothschild & Sons Limited in London. Mr. Cohen received a BA and MA, with first class honors, from Oxford University.

Roni RosenheimerVenture Partner

Roni has over 15 years of experience in finance, private equity, asset management, and credit analysis in the global financial markets. Roni was the Investment Officer of Lemuria Alliance Single Family Office, where she was responsible for managing the investments across all asset classes, including private and public equities, fixed income and real estate.  Roni also served as a Buy-Side Credit Analyst at J.P. Morgan Chase, an Investment Banker at Goldman Sachs and the Executive Business Assistant to Chief Executive Officer and Co-Owner of Gazit Globe Israel.

Roni is active in the social enterprise Leaders Quest, which works with leaders globally to create a more equitable and sustainable world.

Roni holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from New York University Stern Business School.

David FrohmannChief Financial Officer

David Frohmann brings over 10 years of experience in accounting both in Israel and the United States. Prior to joining Shavit Capital, David was a senior auditor at KPMG Somekh Chaikin where he was responsible for the venture capital sector in Jerusalem as well as the audits of various US publicly traded companies. David performed a rotational assignment in Silicon Valley where he obtained further experience in the hi-tech and utilities sectors, as well as in acquisitions. Previously in New York, David served as a senior auditor at Loeb & Troper.

David holds a B.Sc in Accounting, summa cum laude, from Yeshiva University.

Lia BensimonExecutive Assistant

Lia Bensimon has extensive experience in office management and executive assistance, both in Israel and Canada, and has been a key member of the Shavit Capital team for more than 15 years. She was instrumental in assisting an international Wall Street based bank establish its operations in Israel.  Lia spent several years in Canada where she served as an executive assistant role at Russell Reynolds Associates, a global executive search firm, and beforehand managed the corporate offices of Harry Winston Diamond Corporation. Before this, Lia worked at the Jerusalem Music Centre where she personally assisted Maestro Isaac Stern during his frequent visits to Israel.
